It’s a good first MeshTastic set.
This is a good set. But the dang button broke after a week of use. However, they manufacturer made it more than right. It comes flashed with Heltec’s firmware which might not be trivial to change, but there are Discord servers which can help set up your device with the firmware you want. The Muzi whip might be a good product to pair this with–which is what I did. The SWR is good for 906MHz. The fit of the board and battery are fine in the case, although I had trouble with the SMA connector. I put the star washer on the inside with the split washer and nut on the outside–otherwise it just wouldn’t fit. Battery life isn’t that great as of this review because intelligent power management hasn’t been integrated with the MeshTastic firmware. It lasts about 8-10 hours. However, it has WiFi and Bluetooth which is great for management. I would recommend WiFi if possible because it’s so much faster. Connectivity seems on par with the limitations of LoRa and the environment I’m in.

No directions for assembly. Lots of small components with no clear ways to know where they go
This device comes completely disassembled with no directions. With all the small wires and batteries in the package, I am not sure I would be connecting them accurately.An instruction sheet or video to where things need to be attached would be nice.

Up and running
No clear instructions on how to setup. Boitier parfaitement adapté à l’Heltec 32 V3. Prévoir une batterie LiPo 802540 dont le logement est également parfaitement ajusté. Il est bien fini et d’apparence solide. Une sortie USB sur le dessus aurait été un plus car si un câble de recharge est branché, on ne peut le poser droit. Satisfait de cet achat.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW…These Heltec V3’s work great and are currently operating as they should. However, there are a few things you should know. When you first try to flash them with meshtastic, they need to be in “boot mode”. Hold the power button while plugging into the usb on your pc. If they don’t show up in the devices you will need to download a driver from the web (search for it) and manually load the driver the way you would any hardware. Second, they do not work well when they are on and within BLE (bluetooth) range of each other. They will act buggy, constantly reboot and will be hard to stay connected in the app. Use one at a time when they are within 100′ of each other. Third, they will also act buggy when they are in a heavy wifi signal or bluetooth environment. They do not handle high traffic bluetooth and wifi devices. Keep this in mind before you get too frustrated, they should work good otherwise.
