Super cute and immensely useful
After replacing my secondhand laptop’s battery due to damage from overheating, I’ve been careful to ensure I don’t pre-emptively ruin the new battery. I don’t use my laptop directly on soft/fabric surfaces, but this also means I can’t do work or simple tasks if I’m not feeling well or have something quick to complete after I’ve gotten in bed.I also get motion sick from playing modern games, like those on my Switch 2, on large screens — so I play handheld. This works well, except when my arthritis flares or I need to concentrate on fast-paced controls.My makeshift solution to both aforementioned issues were to use a lap tray/bed tray. It works, albeit at the expense of a little comfort and movement. It’s not adjustable in height or angle, so viewing is uncomfortable: it works for quick 5 minute tasks on the laptop, but requires me to be propped up with a wedge pillow to play video games on it. It’s also not very sturdy or stable, but has done the job for a few months.This laptop stand is a great replacement for/addition to my current solution. While I may eventually use it to replace the plastic laptop tray I have for my work desk, it’s currently an excellent holder for my Switch 2 and laptop interchangeably. It’s stable enough on my bed, and made even more stable when I place it on my folding bed tray.The color is less “rose gold” and more “rose pink,” but this was evident from the product picture and I’m in love with how cute it is. The dog cutout (which can maybe questionably be considered catlike for those of us who are cat people) serves to provide airflow.The metal construction is VERY sturdy. It’s stiff enough to hold your device up without moving, but not too stiff that it’s difficult to adjust. Metal will help dissipate heat whereas plastic would insulate it, so I don’t worry about my battery becoming overheated. It holds a Dell XPS 13 perfectly, and I think one could use it comfortably for up to a 15″ laptop screen.It’s such a simple product design that makes day-to-day life more comfortable!
