Was sent an email from Nighthawk that our old generation router would no longer have firmware updates which would make us at risk for malware and other security risks. I thought this was awesome of them as a company to reach out.Extremely easy set up and the app is so simple to use. Changing your passwords and wifi names made simple. Easy access to monitor any security risks. We have 3 tv’s, 2 phones and numerous other devices connected with no speed issues. Excellent upload and download speeds as well. Highly recommend for a simple easy set up at a great price.

Easy to set up – if you’re prepared
We’ve always had a good experience with Netgear so upgraded to this midrange model when former unit was no longer supported. Plenty of power and range for our several devices (caveat – we’re not gamers). If you’re not tech savvy, strongly recommend watching a few videos before attempting to install- the instructions with the unit are minimal, basically consisting of “use the Nighthawk App”. And they’re not kidding – the App is critical to a successful installation. All goes very smoothly when you simply follow the steps on the App.

Don’t forget to set it up on the app
It works fine. My internet provider did the install for me then I could connect devices but not use the internet.. it took me 3 days of it not working, a call to my service provider and a half hour on the phone with them to figure out I needed to download the app and set it up to get it to work. So there’s that. But I use netgear routers at home and work and never had any issues. *I did not set up the one at home myself either to know about the app

Its a solid router. It does its job, and it does it well. A good solution for small to mid-sized homes, and the app included is pretty simple. Certainly a solid mid-tier choice for anyone sick of shoddy ISP-provided routers.

Old device. No longer is receiving updates.
I received an email that my device would no longer be able to receive updates so I bought this new router. I was sold an older model device that also no longer is able to receive updates. I will be returning this.

I have Nexicom Fibre Internet…3rd Party Routers including all newtgear will not work on their Network. I rated 3 Stars jjust on appearance.
