Do not buy if you do not want to be bothered when fishing
Great sunglasses with features!Love the case!!I wanted to use it when I ride MTB.Great on fishing if you want to video your catch. Only con is that my wife keep saying “Hey meta, take a video” to me, so I have to stop fishing and take her videos beware!Hands free photo and video shooting is great.Helps me in many way. I do not post pictures on instagram or facebook, but if you do, great way to post it with meta vanguard. Al feature where you ask meta questions may make you weird person in crowd but very helpful(handsfree!). I got my oakley Kato this year and I love it too. This vanguard look and feel similar and just $200 more from it, you get all these cool fetuses. I am getting more lenses eventually when they come out for purchase. I am love this sunglasses!!!

Love These Glasses! Great Video, Great Audio, and So Much Fun to Use
I’ve been using the META × Oakley Vanguard glasses for a few weeks now, and they’ve completely changed how I capture and enjoy my bike rides. The video and photo quality are sharp and vibrant in good lighting, and the centered camera gives you a true point-of-view perspective, exactly how you see the road or trail.Voice commands work surprisingly well, even while riding. Up to about 25 mph, it picks up my voice perfectly. At higher speeds, I just raise my voice a little, and it still responds. It’s amazing to be able to record hands-free, especially on climbs or descents where stopping isn’t an option.Everything downloads straight into your phone instantly, no cables, no extra steps. You can even overlay your ride stats (power, speed, heart rate) directly onto your photos, which is such a cool touch. A picture might be worth a thousand words, but one with your stats is worth a thousand watts! The speakers are clear for both music and directions, and here’s a feature I didn’t expect: my brother and I often ride together, and these glasses make it easy for us to talk while riding. It’s great for chatting, checking directions, or just sharing the moment without stopping or fumbling for a phone. They’re comfortable, bright, and block wind really well. I’ve used them on chilly days they fogged a little on one cold climb, but otherwise, the visibility is perfect. Battery life is around four hours, which is plenty for most rides. I’d love to see a smaller charging case or just a simple USB-C cable for charging on the go.As for the AI features, they work fine through the app, though the glasses themselves don’t have “true” built-in intelligence, and that’s okay. Everything else more than makes up for it.Overall, these glasses are fantastic. They’re not just a gadget; they’ve become part of how I ride and stay connected. Highly recommend them for anyone who loves cycling, adventure, or just wants an easy way to capture moments hands-free.

The video is like someone punched you in the face
Got these to replace my Instant Go 3 on my hat for USPSA competitions, wearing a headphone for listening to music and obviously for the new ai features. I look forward for 4 things. Good video camera, talk to ai, listen to music and the convenience. But, I found that out of the 4 things, the one thing I look forward the most is a good video camera and it is not up to par. Here are the cons:1. Video camera is not up to par vs Go 3, it jitters for no reason during recording like someone punches you in the face. There are no way to turn off stabilization and it jumps all over the place.2. The recoding sounds are horrible, it keeps going in and out on loud sounds and there are no way to turn them off3. Not enough video camera settings, no landscape only portrait, no setting to turn off stabilization4. Cannot listen to music while recording5. Definitely heavier than regular Oakley M-Frames, that is to be expected6. The case should have a tracker build in, if you lose it, you don’t even know itI used it heavily for the last 2 weeks since it released and I have tried every possible way to fix these issues.Amazon won’t let me post my uspsa video, so you can either take my word for it or check out my ig at hyasuma_pewThe Pros:1) Easy to set up2) Upload directly to your phone gallery3) Sound is amazing for both music and phone calls4) Makes recording/image and sharing things a breeze5) Talking to Meta AI is pretty coolOverall, I like the product and wanted to give a 5 star but with the video jitter issue, I can’t justify all the pro outweighing this specific issue. I am planning on giving a bit more time to see if the jitter can be fixed, if not, I might end up returning it and look for alternatives like Bleeq.

Great for outdoor jobs
Worth the buy if your have a Job that involves always being Outside! Or if you love to be outdoors. Im a delivery driver and i see things all the time! These glasses allows me to capture moments. The only thing is that Bluetooth range isnt the best, and the AI voice is sometimes scratchy.

Not for me.
Purchased these to get away from having to wear my Go2 on my forehead for USPSA competitions, and to have a way to record things while out on my daily runs. However, I found that:1. the rakes were too tight and gave me a headache with extended wear2. they were noticeably heavier and less comfortable than my Oakley M-Frames3. the sound from the video wasn’t always syncing properly (a few milliseconds off, but noticeable)4. periodically, I could hear a faint “ping” that coming form the glasses.Overall, they were easy to set up and they make recording and sharing things a breeze. Also, the sound quality is impressive for not being in ear. Unfortunately, the downsides are significant enough that I can’t justify keeping them around.

Wow, where to start? These are so fantastic and offer so many options, that it would be hard to put them all in this review, so here are what I think would be the most important points:First and most important for me is comfort. I get headaches from most glasses, so pressure on the temples is a big no for me. These are snug on the temples, without giving me immediate headaches. This is awesome, since I’ll be wearing them for longer periods of time on bike rides and hikes. I do feel relief after taking them off, especially if I wear them more than 15-30mins, but there is no pain and no headache while wearing them. I really like the changeable nose pads, there is one size that fits me well and doesn’t leave marks on my skin, while keeping them stable on me. They weigh a bit more than regular sunglasses, buy not too much so thay they cause pain. These glasses will stay put in many rough activities, where shaking is involved (biking, running) and they don’t budge even when bending repeateadly or turning the head quickly at weird angles. This is an awesome feature, since one doesn’t have to worry about adjusting them or losing them if they fall off. The downside of such a great fit is that they can get hot, and I’m a person that sweats easily. These do end up foggy and moist on the inside with intense activity. There are also instances where sweat dripped over the camera and recording or photos were blurred.Look-wise, they are cool and futuristic. They fit different face shapes well. They work amazingly as sunglasses (like all Oakley products) and the wrap around facilitates dead angle visibility and covers everything completely and perfectly.Performance-wise, the main draw-back is the battery life. If you go overboard with recording, translating, listening to music and using the AI in general, these can be drained in as little as 1-2 hrs, so you need to be wary about the battery and use it with care. The case does charge them quickly, it takes about half an hour to get to 50%About charging, there sadly isn’t another option than the case, so if you forget it or don’t have space for it, yoy won’t be able to use them when they lose charge. I really wish they offered a usb port directly in the glasses, hopefully on the next models.Capability-wise, these are so complete ! After connecting to Meta AI, you see the full range of options these offer. You can record videos at different quality settings up to 3k, it has 3 different stabilization levels and the videos are post processed when transfered to your device. The quality of the videos is really great, especially outdoors with good lighting. To record, you have a button on the side of the glasses that you short press for photos and long press for videos, or you can use the AI and tell it to record. The length of the videos is preset, with 1, 3 or 5 minutes (set in the app). I don’t like the feature that leaves the front light blinking continuously when recording, there is no way to disable it.The sound quality of the speakers is amazing! They sound professional, with adequate bass and clear mids and trebles. The sound volume /play and pause can be controlled through the side bar on the glasses. Just beware that they’re speakers and others will hear whatever is playing thorough them when they are close to you. These can connect to most music apps and the AI does a good job at finding the song you want through voice commands. You can listen to music at most normal speeds on a bike, for example, while still hearing everything well. They work really well for calls, the microphone is excellent and wind doesn’t interfere with conversations. With regards to wind, this can be troublesome for the AI. When it’s strong like it was today, the AI has trouble pickig up commands. Same goes for riding a bike at fast speeds I assume, since it has the same effect. These glasses can’t record audio only, which is a bit of a downer for me. I keep audio memories when my kids are saying funny things or having cute conversations and I don’t necessarily need the video, especially if we’re in the car driving or walking around in the forest. This is really something I wish they could offer and hopefully it will be added with upgrades. The translation feature works fairly well when tested for Spanish. It will not catch slang or region-specific expressions, but will translate basic conversations with success, so it can be used when travelling and needing directions and for other simple things, not for extensive and complicated conversations though. The delay for the translation is about 2 seconds for me.The memory card is 32gb and more than enough for filming a couple of hours of videos (or more if not in 3k). All data is transfered onto your phone when these are connected to wifi and placed in the charging box, or it can be transfered manually, thus the space on the card is freed.I haven’t been able to test the fitness function because these are only compatible with Garmin devices. I don’t own one and didn’t plan on buying one anytime soon.Overall, they’re well-made and offer an array of functions for athletic and casual users. The connectivity is good and so are durability & comfort. Battery life can be improved. They can’t be worn over glasses and there is currently no prescription lens available for this model. The price is fair, given the quality and capabilities and I’m expecting improvements in function with future firmware upgrades.

Mr. Review –
I’ve reviewed the Oakley | Meta HSTN previously, and now having used the Meta Vanguard this past week, I can say that this latest release from Oakley & Meta continues to show the promise and shortcomings of these premium glasses. TLDR: If you spend considerable time outdoors and enjoy capturing sport POV footage, these are the AI glasses for you. Also, if you’ve been looking for improved streaming audio from Spotify or Apple Music—well, we are still waiting for the bass to arrive. Meanwhile, the audio from the video recordings is full, clear, with bass and HiFi-like, so it’s odd that the streaming codecs don’t seem to leverage the hardware. The Vanguard glasses are simply stunning, especially if you’re a fan of athletic-style glasses, and the white prism sapphire is a knockout if you don’t need prescription glasses. If you do, eye contact users are your only point of entry. The build quality of the Vanguard model feels like a step up over the HSTN and is likely due to its IP67 rating for sweat, dust, and water resistance. I also like how the camera has now migrated to above the nose bridge with an Ultra-wide 122° field of view, a 12 MP camera, and 3K UHD recording. Footage from the Vanguard looks and sounds incredible; however, we remain very limited in recording time, with 5 minutes for HD and only 3 minutes for 3K. Given that you likely want to record POV footage skiing or playing sports, that is a real-time limitation. The photo resolution is high at 3024 x 4032 pixels, so you can definitely capture some great-looking photos with the Oakley | Meta Vanguard. While they describe the audio as immersive, as noted above, I found the video recording audio to be precisely that, but streaming audio from Spotify to be lacking in sub-bass, even though it’s clear the speakers are capable, based on the video recordings. It just seems that the Bluetooth 5.3 Codecs are subpar compared to the built-in recordings.Battery life is an odd situation, as the glasses themselves gain an additional hour versus the HSTN model, so 9 hours out of the case. However, the Vanguard case provides only 36 hours of extra battery life, compared with 48 hours from the HSTN’s case. Seems like one step forward, two steps back, and the case for Vanguard is significantly larger given the style of these glasses – so odd. From a sports perspective, this model also integrates with select Garmin devices; however, as I don’t currently own any, I couldn’t test that feature. I appreciate the expanded partnership, including Strava, to deliver greater value from Meta AI glasses. Like any previous Meta AI glasses release, you have the same functionality as the previous Ray-Ban and Oakley models, and trying to capture everything the Meta AI App can do is more than I can cover in this review.Overall, the Oakley | Meta Vanguard glasses are an improvement over the previous Meta Glasses released to date, except perhaps for battery life. The ultrawide camera and recording clarity continue to demonstrate the potential, only let down by short video recording times. However, these glasses are likely a great option if you want to edit footage/clips, given the POV they offer. Comfort-wise, these are snug-fitting glasses. I won’t say uncomfortable, as that is a variable that will change from user to user. I had no issues wearing them for several hours during my time testing them, and actually found them more comfortable than the HSTN model. If you are an action video aficionado and spend considerable time outdoors, I think the Oakley | Meta Vanguard could be a perfect AI glasses for you, provided the price isn’t a barrier to entry and you don’t require prescription lenses. Otherwise, the more standard style of sunglasses, such as the Ray-Ban or HSTN models, may be more affordable and offer much of the same functionality. A recommended buy for the right style of user.
