I bought the basic Amazon Smart Plug to automate a few lamps around my house, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to set up and use. From the moment I plugged it in, the Alexa app detected it instantly and walked me through a quick setup that took less than a minute.The plug responds immediately to voice commands, routines, and schedules. I love being able to say, “Alexa, turn on the lamp,” especially when my hands are full or I’m walking into a dark room. Helps to automate uses of product in your home, I love it
Absolutely an awesome product especially if you are a Prime Alexa user. It super easy to use and very intuitive. It is compatible with the Alexa app controls or by voice to your Alexa commands. Within your app, you can add timers which is convenient and can be used whether you are home or away. I already have one and when I saw the good price for the value of this product to get 2, I jumped at the opportunity. I attached it to other lights in my home. For me it was as easy as plugging in the plug and naming it (for user commands and identifying which item you are using).For me the convenience of this product is very useful, hands free, and hassle-free in and around my home to use various things with ease. The smart plugs are sturdy and durable.I highly recommend this product and would definitely purchase again, to use for other home automation items in my home.

Easy Connection
These are the best smart outlets. Installation is basically plug and play and no other app is required. As long as you’ve got the Alexa app it is easy peasy and you’ll have your outlets controlling your device’s power in a few minutes. I have a couple of these from when they first came out and they still work perfectly. Other brands have stopped working or their 3rd party app has been discontinued. I will only buy Amazon branded outlets from now on so I can be sure they won’t become obsolete in 6 or 7 years.

Set up can be frustrating
These work well and I would likely give them 5 stars if the setup were as easy as they lead you to believe. After a few failed attempts, I finally figured out that I had to let the light flash until it went solid, then hold the power button to reset the plug in order for it to be found by the Alexa App. In addition, it would not find my wifi network, I had to enter the network name and password manually. Not a big deal once I figure out it was as “plug and play” as they directions say.Overall, these work well when connected. I like that I can create a group in the app and ask Alexa to turn on the group. Mainly bought these to control different Christmas lights throughout the house. So far, when testing, it works well to turn the group on/off.I will likely buy these again in the future if there becomes a need for another smart plug.

Great Smart Plug for the Price!
I’ve been using the Amazon Basics Smart Plug for a few months now, and it’s been a great addition to my smart home setup. Setup was super easy — I just plugged it in, opened the Alexa app, and it connected within a minute. Replaced my old plugs with these and was shocked at how easy it was!
I was an early adopter of Amazon Alexa technology. I love the convenience of being able to turn on/off lights without having to actually use the switch.I originally bought another brand of plug; they were complicated to install and would often need to be “re-paired” with the light for no apparent reason. It was aggravating.I finally got totally fed up and bought the Amazon Basics plugs to replace them.Wow, what a difference!It’s incredibly easy to pair with the device; it “talks” you through each step, making it almost idiot-proof.I highly recommend these plugs, and my old plugs are in the trash!

These are perfect. I use them in conjunction with our Alexa echo app to set a routine. We have 3 of these plugs to turn on and off the lights & heat lamps for our tortoise & our fish tank! The timer works great and I don’t have to worry about remembering to turn them on. This is important as our tortoise needs 12 hours of light daily! They are super simple to set up, especially if familiar with Alexa smart products. The instructions make it even easier. They work with anything you plug into them. We bought one like 5 years ago and it’s still working!

Easy to set up
This comes with 2 white smart plugs. They were actually very easy to set up. I already have the app to control my Amazon Echoes, so adding these plugs were simple as they are compatible Amazon products. The quality seems great and fit easily in our wall outlet and power strip. I used it for my lamps. You can control the lamps to turn on/off from your phone or there is a button on the side to manually turn on/off.Great product for your lamps in case you come home later than expected and want your lights to be on at night.

Great plug! I know it is “basic” and “simple” but the set up was a breeze, and the basic design made it easy to use and figure out and revived my ottlamp that wouldn’t turn on after the external switch broke. Yay! 😁
