5 Star Echo device.
Okay everyone. My only regret is that I cannot afford a 2nd one right now. First off. Way to go to the design engineering. This Echo is sleek. Love the look. I paired this with my sub and it has amazing sound. As far as everyone’s expectations, lighten up. It does what it is suppose to. The AI isn’t as good as Chat GPT or GROK, but the convenience of Amazon available in easy conversation anywhere in my home is unbeatable. The speed is also great. It is isn’t the device that is slow, it is your internet and the use of the port in your wifi. My Echo responds perfectly and fast. Good job Amazon team. Hope to get another soon.

Huge fatal flaws
I will change this review if the Devs fix these issues, but as of right now, I have unplugged this thing because of these HORRIFIC choices:1. Alexa’s voice is so much louder than played content such as music or white noise. I have to turn the volume up to almost max just to hear music or white noise from 10-20 feet away, but that also raises the assistant’s voice to shouting. There is no option in the settings to normal the volume of either, it’s just the volume rocker. Huge issue to actual usage2. The content displayed on the screen rotates every 15-60 seconds, I have timed it, there is no set rotation time. This is for all the suggestions, the screen picture/background you set, everything. There is no setting in either the device’s settings or in the Alexa app to change this. I tried to have this on my desk like other older Echo Show devices, but it’s nauseating to catch the screen wipes constantly out of the corner of my eye. The changes are smoother or blended, just harsh changes from 1 thing to another. It’s like the old screensaver on Windows, and this is literally the reason that MS turned it off by default, people hate this.3. Less of a big deal, but still wrong and needs to be fixed. If you turn off items in the Home Content Categories, they still sometimes pop in there. It looks like because Alexa hasn’t been “setup” with my preferences for the category, it is prompting me to set it up, even though it’s supposed to be disabled.Echo Devs, these items are literally just software , they can and have to be fixed from your end.

Nice Unit But with Bugs
It is a nice unit. The sound is great. But I got early Access to Alexa + and it has bugs. What is the point of the Finance Widget if it will only display the S&P 500 and no matter how I try to add other stocks and Indexes, all it will do is add more Finance Widgets with the S&P 500. This should be basic stuff.

Doesn’t support Netflix.
This is a great device but I bought it to watch Netflix and it doesn’t support it the previous model did support it witch was a smaller screen that why I wanted to update you should DO an update to have Netflix on this device would be the best device.

New Echo Show 11 2025
I traded in my Echo Show 8 (2023) because it was hard of hearing, and the screen was too small to read from a distance. The new Echo Show 11 is better in both respects. I’ve had Alexa+ for a couple of months now on the old Echo Show 8, but it was tough to use because of the unresponsiveness and the small screen.Setup of the Echo Show 11 was easy – it was able to copy the settings from the old Echo Show. It set up the Feminine Voice #2 that sounds like the OG Alexa from the start. I still had to tweak all my reminders and routines to point to the new Echo. Visual ID had to be set up again. I had to unpair the Echo Subwoofer from the old Echo and re-pair it with the new one to get it to work properly. The new setup was way too boomy, so I had to figure out how to reduce the bass. It does sound very good now, better than the old set up.I somehow lost the paper documentation the Echo Show 11 came with because I set it aside during unboxing and now can’t figure out where it went. You don’t really need it and there is a quick guide PDF you can download. In summary, it is mostly the same Echo Show with many improvements, while there will be a learning curve to get the most out of Alexa+.

Very slow and major delay.. eww
I bought this to be a window to the future. It’s “AI powered” Instead, it’s a window to about three seconds ago. When I tap the screen, I have enough time to check my watch, and then wonder if my watch is also slow. Then I tap it again, and suddenly I’ve asked for the weather in two different cities. The user interface isn’t slow, it’s… contemplative. It really wants to make sure I meant to turn the lights on.It offered to link my calendar, which I thought was nice. But it won’t actually do it. It’s like a personal assistant who says “I’ll pencil that in,” but doesn’t own a pencil. The setup was okay, but the value is hard to find. I paid for a smart device, but I got a picture frame that is still thinking about what picture to show. The quality is fine, I guess. It looks nice on the counter, just sitting there, lagging. I am thinking of returning it. I just have to press the ‘return’ button and wait.Ps. I’ve been stuck on this “linking” screen for days now, maybe at some point, it will actually “link”

Great device but limited streaming options
Initial 6 hour quick review. Great device and big upgrade from the Echo show 10. I’m just a bit aggravated in the native video apps supported by the device. It does support prime video, YouTube(browser), TikTok(browser), peacock(browser) and hbo max(browser ) but no Netflix ( previously supported in echo show 10 model available later per Amazon above description) or others. This device is our main video streaming device for the kitchen and to only support these few is a huge disappointment.Soo much capability in this device to be hampered by video/app distribution squabbles. Reason for 4 out of 5 stars. Would be 5 out of 5 if amazon added more native video streaming apps.
