Why is my power bank providing fewer charges than expected?

The capacity reduction during charging is due to a 30% to 45% energy loss in the battery cells and conversion circuitry. Therefore, a fully charged Anker A1610 Battery (PowerCore 5K) offers an estimated 2,750mAh~3,250mAh to power devices.

How can I estimate the number of charges for my device?

To estimate charging cycles, use these formula:

(Power Bank Capacity × 0.5) ÷ Device Battery Capacity ≈ Number of Charges.

For instance, charging a 3,000mAh device using a 5,000mAh Wireless power bank would offer approximately 0.83 charges.

Why does charging stop at 80%?

Your iPhone may automatically stop charging at 80% to protect its battery from overheating, as part of iOS 17’s thermal management strategy. Charging will resume once the device cools down. Moving it to a cooler spot can help speed up this process.

Why is my phone overheating?

It’s normal for devices to warm up slightly during wireless charging, particularly with heavy use like extensive gaming or streaming. Rest assured, this device meets international safety standards for safe operation.

Smaller Than Ever: Anker’s new MiniCell technology delivers identical charging performance with fewer components. This means it’s smaller and lighter than ever before
Pocket-Sized Power: Slim enough to snap to your phone and slip into your pack, purse, or pocket.
Strong Attachment: Equipped with ultra-strong magnets that firmly attach to the back of the iPhone 15 or 14 so you can single-handedly take selfies, make calls, and more.
Charge in a Snap: Align your iPhone and battery with a snap. Say goodbye to disconnection issues caused by wireless charging misalignment. (Note: Slight heating due to efficiency losses in the conversion circuit is normal.)

    Good on the go charger!
Works great for my iPhone 14 Plus. Unfortunately, after the OS26 update my battery hasn’t been super great. This addition lets me keep charged and delays me forking over a bunch of cash for a new phone. It does get warm while charging. Strong magnet. Light weight.

Great for Phones with Glitching Ports
This was perfect for my husband who has trouble charging his phone through the port. Now he can charge his phone, if necessary, while at work. Small, compact and powerful. However, it did to be completely charged upon opening the box even though the description indicated it should be ready to go. Not really an issue just worth noting.

    Slow Charger
I’ve had a lot of good luck with Anker products. That’s why they were one of my first choices with I wanted to try a MagSafe battery with my iPhone Pro Max. This time, the results were a mixed bag.I liked the size and magnet. The battery is small enough that I can still hold my phone comfortably when it’s attached. And the magnet is strong enough that it doesn’t shake loose when I toss my phone with it attached into my pocket or backpack. The problem, and why I eventually returned it, is that it charges my phone more slowly than other MagSafe batteries I’ve tried. You don’t have to take my word for it. That’s why my iPhone says when I attach it. It also doesn’t trigger the MagSafe animation. That’s probably because it’s not a true MagSafe charger.More to the point, it takes about 30% longer to charge my iPhone than other MagSafe chargers, where the issues I just mentioned don’t happen.

Excellent Quality and Fast Charging — Highly Recommended!
I’m extremely impressed with this Anker charger! The build quality is excellent — sturdy, sleek, and compact. It charges my devices super fast without overheating, and the cable connection feels very secure. Delivery was quick and the packaging was neat and professional. I’ve used many chargers before, but this one truly stands out for its reliability and performance. Highly recommend both the product and the supplier for their great service!

I don’t regret most things, but I fear this was a waste of money. (Sorry for the long read)
I was between buying this and a mophie charging case. If I was going to buy this one, I was going to have to get a MagSafe case as I don’t have any. And with the new iPhone 17s out and my needing an upgrade on my phone. This portable charger seemed very promising with the amount of reviews it had and a 4+ star rating. And was cheaper than the mophie case, too! With all that being said, I decided purchasing this charger would be the best option. It was definitely the cheaper route even if I did have to buy a MagSafe case. No matter, I got an Anker case for about $20. And I would still be able to use the charger on my next phone. Now, I was in search of a portable phone charger/charging case as I was going to be going to Louder Than Life. For those that don’t know what that is, it’s a 4 day rock festival usually the last or second to last weekend of September in Louisville Kentucky. And as I mentioned, my phone needs an upgrade because on any regular day, I need to charge my phone by 1pm in the day. My phones battery life SUCKS.I purchase the charger about 5 days before I leave for the fest. It arrives the next day. I took it out, made sure everything was in there and went ahead and plugged it up so it could be fully charged. Charged it over night and the next day, around 1pm when I needed to charge my phone back up, I decided to use it. I was greatly disappointed to find that I had it charging for about an hour and it had barely powered my phone 10%. And at this point, I couldn’t really buy another charger for fear of it arriving after I left for the show. So instead, decided to put up and just go ahead and try and make do at the fest.Well, I get even more disappointed when using it at the fest. In kentucky, the weather can’t make its mind up to save its life. During the fest, the highs were 87-90 out. Pretty hot. But, I had gotten the top shelf vip and was able to have shaded areas and also very AC’d areas. Mind you, I only used the charger while outside in the shaded area. With nice wind flow and fans.On the first day of the 2 my husband and I went, I began using the charger at about 5pm. I had it on for an hour to two hours. And in those 1-2 hours, it had only charged my phone MAYBE 15% and had used over half of the portable batteries charge. I even had my phone on low battery mode. And not only that, it did cause my phone to be VERY hot.On the second day of the two me and my husband was there, I used the charger again about the same time but this time for only about 30-45 minutes. Still the same issue with how much the charger was actually charging my phone, but this time it caused my phone to pause charging till my phone cooled down. I was in literally the same spot I was in the previous day. So, it ended up turning it off and just taking it off my phone. Didn’t use it again till about 7:30 and used it when I wouldn’t be using my phone at all to record anything and charged it till the next band came on around 8:30. During that hour, I got a 10% charge. Also keep in mind, during the WHOLE time I was at the fest, my phone was in low battery mode. Idk if that makes a difference, but thought I’d add that. While it isn’t able to really charge your phone without over heating it, it does have a very strong magnetic grip. The one thing I didn’t like about the magnetic thing, and this just might be where I’ve never used a MagSafe portable charger and didn’t know that they do this, is that it kinda just swung around on the magnet. While using it, the charger would get crooked and I’d have to straighten it up. Or I’d put it in my purse and it’d be sideways on my phone. Again, that might be just a thing of MagSafe portable chargers and they all do it and not be something specific to this one. I be dumb sometimes lol. But I will say, I do like how slim it is. Not bulky and taking up a lot of room.I will also say that it’s quite durable. When we got home, my husband was trying to help get stuff out of the truck and it dropped out of my purse and was still good to go! Barely even scuffed up!Overall, I’m not quite sure this charger was worth it. Especially if it’s only providing 10-15% charge in 2 hours. I didn’t like chilling with my phone on 20% for hours all day. Especially in a big crowd like that when there’s chances of my husband and I getting separated and not being able to get back to him. And I also don’t like how hot it made my phone.. it can’t be good for the phone. So, just be weary! Heed the warnings! The AI generated review overview was correct!

Bought this little Anker MagGo after my iPhone 15 Pro started dying mid-afternoon on long days out. It’s genuinely pocket-sized, thinner than a deck of cards and weighs next to nothing. Snaps straight onto the back with a satisfying clunk, no wobble, even when I’m walking the dog or juggling coffee.Gives me about 85-90% charge from flat (enough to get through the evening), and the 7.5W wireless speed is plenty for topping up while I’m using the phone. The USB-C port is handy for recharging the bank itself overnight, and the LED indicators are clear without being flashy.Build quality is proper Anker, soft-touch finish, no cheap plastic vibes, and it’s survived a couple of drops in my bag. For £30ish, it’s a no-brainer if you hate bulky power banks or faffing with cables. Already bought one for my partner too.

Slim, with a good magnet and the charging goes through my thicker (two-layered) protective case which my other one doesn’t. Very satisfied!

Un powerbank muy útil por su tamaño reducido que cabe en cualquier bolso y que además permite la carga inalámbrica , es todo un acierto, por cierto, es muy chulo, aunque eso no pueda ser demasiado importante.
