Works with XFinity, speeds are what I expect. Not trivial to setup with a Wifi Router.
I dislike “renting” HW from a internet supplier. In my new place, Xfinity was my only option. While I had problems with Comcast 10+ years ago, with no other options I was hoping things had improved. This modem works exactly as expected. When Xfinity came out to setup my service, the modem came up and I was able to plug in and get internet access with the tech here. Simple. One ethernet port and no Wifi, but a good price. However, I wanted to use my slightly older Netgear Nighthawk D7000 Wifi-Router as my primary connection into the house. It took calls to Netgear, Arris, and Xfinity before I found the right set of steps to get everything working. Not well documented, and none of the helpdesks could do much to get me working. While I reset things so many time across two days, I believe the right steps were:- Arris up and working (can see internet with a hardwired PC)- Cable from Arris to Nighthawk “Internet/Wan” port- Cold boot router- PC to ethernet port on router- Navagate to 192.168.0.1 (Nighthawk admin page)- Netgear Genie comes up, let it do its thing (10+ minutes)I had to have everything up before I could use 192.168.100.1 to get to the arris modem page, but it turned out that this modem is simple enough that the only thing I did when I got there was turned off all the the LEDs (blue and bright).I would hope other routers would come up easier. 5-stars for the modem (after the setup pain). I’m getting full speed and things have been solid.

Works, easy setup, well worth the price
Came with no instructions. Was supposed to include the user manual, but no documentation included!?!?When I originally plugged it in, I thought it was DOA. No power, no lights, nothing. Decided to pack it up for return, but instead, I then decided to try a different power wire since the one in my box looked old/ damaged. Unit powered right up…Contacted seller to request a new power cord and was asked for my shipping address for the replacement to be sent right out. Hopefully it’ll be received within the next few days. I was told to make sure to obtain/ use the power cord that is supposed to be provided because using a different power supply COULD damage the item after time.So far, so good (using my own power supply), but will return if any issues/ damage within the return window due to the replacement wire being used.Didn’t really speed up my connection as i had already been using a similar modem/ router combo. This was a replacement, but i can honestly say the price is excellent as compared to others. This DID help with my connection constantly “dropping” throughout the day (which is why I needed the replacement), and was pretty easy to set up. No issues providing MAC address to ISP, came online right away with no issue. Now I’ll just wait for the wire…

Unstable connectivity
Constantly drops connection. You buy cheap you get cheap.

Working great for Comcast service
Bought this for my mother so she doesn’t have to pay Comcast modem rental fee. Also nice to use with my own router.

Four stars because it took Xfinity about an hour to provision it.
I’m on a limited budget. Gut I got a faster speed from Xfinity at a lower price so a new modem was needed.I got a “renewed” unit at a good price. I’ve been dealing with networks since 1988, so I’m not unfamiliar with the process.I did the heavy lifting on my end, which wasn’t very difficult at all. Anyone with even a modicum of experience with home networking will have no problem. Some people say the phone app is a pain, but it did help. Then on to the Xfinity app. After three attempts and waiting for an hour I called support. I got a pretty nice person who was well versed in setups, and even he had a hard time provisioning it, but after about 50 minutes I was able to log into the Xfinity site.I’m not quite getting the speeds I should be, but I also have my network locked down pretty hard. But I can run 3 TVs, two devices running the SXM app, and browse with no glitches. If it had provisioned with the Xfinity app, it would have been 5 stars, but there hasn’t been a modem yet I haven’t had an issue with Xfinity, including their own.
