Relatively easy setup and a very good product
Relatively easy to hook up and personalize. Make sure to connect your cable and contact your provider as a first step. The setup instructions do not make that clear. Was able to connect my mesh system easily to this. All in all, very pleased with this product.

Hope everyone has better luck than I did
Set this up today. Took me a couple phone calls to the support desk and a call to Comcast / Xfinity. That was all after I downloaded and installed the app on my phone, which seemed like it was going to be an easy process. Turns out, it took me about 3 hours to get this thing running. No one mentioned beforehand that Comcast would have to flip some switch on their end to connect to the internet. I began to wonder if saving the $15 / month on the router supplied by Comcast was worth my trouble. I was led to believe I would have to connect to the network G34-F2C9 and use a password indicated by the instructions. So, I kept avoiding the network / password I’ve been using for the past 15 years with my Comcast user name. It was very frustrating and I was very happy when everything came together. But, to take over 3 hours seemed pretty ridiculous. So, even though I’m getting WiFi through my new router, I’m still using my previous network and my phone, IPad, smart TV and Chromebook all connected automatically. On a side note, this is a refurbished item. I paid probably over half what a new one would, but it seems to work just fine – after I was able to connect to the internet. There is a slight issue to it, cosmetically. As you might see in the second picture, there is a scuff on the side. Not a big deal and worth the lower price I paid.

    Brand A instead of X
So much easier to set up then the other brand I sent back. It’s doing a great job!

Could be faster, needs a boost
This works pretty good for us but needs a boost to reach functional levels in our 3 level townhome. We connected a range booster and it’s seamless.

    Gets The Job Done
It does the job! Haven’t had any connectivity issues since getting the equipment set up. The set up was a little complex when connecting my other devices since there can be multiple networks.

Device only supports 2 SSID’s? (Refurbished Arris G34)
I’ve spent the morning setting up this modem/router combo (Arris G34). Installation was OK. Control interface for their “wizard” is terrible.Wanted to set up 4 SSID’s for my house. This device ONLY supports its main SSID and a Guest ID. If I’m wrong, someone tell me how to do it. I’ve read the manual.I prefer to organize device connections via specific SSID’s. Don’t have that option that I can find.Performance OK so far. Wary of the reported 5G problems. I’ll see how it works and decide whether to keep it or return it,Update 4-27-2024sSo after two weeks everything seems to function ok. No outages, no problems with 5G.I haven’t noticed an appreciable increase in connection speed and the range to the far end of the house is not improved over the ten yer old router it replaced. Speed test varies depending on which device I use for test (Samsung TV’s) Modem is advertised as having WPS but darned if I can find a button on the modem to use the feature. I’ve had a few drop outs on streaming devices less than 20 ft from the modem so I attribute that to the service, not the modem signal.Still evaluating whether to keep it but at this writing nothing dramatic to reportUpdate June 17, 2024Suspicious outages a few times, resolved with modem reboot. Thinking that a routine reboot of this device will be necessary for it working properly. No other problems. Mostly satisfied given it’s a renewed product. One more month to determine if I keep it or return it.Upd Aug 19th.Well, the return window closed, and I still have the device. Nothing new to add. The only incident was a power spike which seemed to delete my setup table. I easily reconstructed from backup information and all is well since. It’s Florida storm season so we get fairly freaky weather sometime. I wouldn’t blame the problem on some device defect. We’ve lost power a few times this summer and device recovers nicely, with the notable exception above.Upgrading review score to a 4. I’m satisfied. Now for the long haul.
