Multi-room music for a much better value than Sonos
We listen to a lot of music. The problem is our record player, TV, and the rest of our home theater was in the main living room but we spend a lot of time in the kitchen as well. Our Echo Dot was no longer cutting it, and you really couldn’t sync music between rooms. Denon boasted that their HEOS system would work flawlessly across devices so we decided to try out the Home 150.I can honestly say, I’m blown away with the quality, sound, and ease of use. Since we already had our AVR setup on WiFi, and already had the HEOS app, all we had to do was have our phones locate the speaker and sync with the system. The main feature that I didn’t think would work well, was putting on a record in one room, and being able to listen to it in multiple rooms at the same time. This speaker does just that with barely any noticeable syncing issues or lag. The built in Alexa also made the update from the Echo seamless as we use Alexa’s features quite often.Normally I’m someone too that has to sit and tinker with a speaker or setup to get it to sound right and honestly, no adjustments needed as long as you follow the instructions during first time use. I highly reccomend this to anyone that is already in the Denon ecosystem and doesn’t want to pay the inflated prices for Sonos.

    Look no further
I bought one Denon Home 250 for the master bed and two Denon Home 150 for the other bedrooms upstairs. Figuring the app out, connecting to Alexa then adding devices took a bit of work but now that it is set up, multiroom works perfectly. I play from Alexa or direct from Spotify. Sometimes have to go back to the app to set the volume balance between the rooms but it works once you know what to look for. Sound is superior. The 250 has a good bass and is very clear across the spectrum. The smaller carry themselves well as secondary speakers or for smaller room. I can highly recommend this product.

A solid HEOS speaker, but pricey
I have a HEOS receiver and the concept of placing these speakers around the house versus wiring the house is a great option. We have two and I’d like to get a third. They’re easy to set up, sleek looking, come in black or white, and sound decent for their size. Cons: Overpriced. If you’re going to get 3 of them to place around the house, you’re spending $500 all in to do so. I feel like these should be $100 each or at least be sold in 2, 3, 4 speaker sets that average $100/speaker. I also hate that it has no battery backup for moving it around. It uses AC power only, so if you have one that you want to roam with, say from inside to outside, you have to unplug it, plug it back in elsewhere and let it boot up and connect to wi-fi all over again., It seems like it would be easy for these to have a small rechargeable battery that at least provides 10 minutes of backup power for continuous operation so you could move it without losing connection.

As always Denon quality is great
I’ve recently become a huge fan of Denon speakers. I have a wall mounted echo show 15 (speaker quality is nails on a chalkboard) I paired the Denon smart speaker (not this one) and as it sounded really good, the Echo and the smart speaker would constantly conflict. This speaker requires a “player” (smartphone, tablet, tv, echo show) which makes conflicting smart issues, not an issue. We have this blue tooth to our audiotechnica vinyl player and the echo show. Only issue is every now and then there seems to be a timeout on music (it’s random) seeing that we play the vinyl for hours and when we use our phones it’s not an issue, it’s probably the echo show.

Great Sound but at What Cost
I have had this 250 now for about two months and have had some time to finally adjust however there are just several nuances that drive me nuts. Let’s start with the good, sound, is amazing. The HEOS app allows me to EQ it to my taste and overall does a good job. I used this in my office for a few days just to get it going and overall I was impressed in a 12×12 room. I purchased this to use my home gym which is a little larger size room and as equally filling sound and can get loud with no distortion. Now the bad….When I walk into the room, my phone seems to know this speaker is nearby and allows me to Airplay to it. The problem is the initial connection. 90% of the time it connects starts to play yet I get no sound. About 10 – 20 sec of me realizing it’s a lost cause, the speaker looks like it reboots and blinks feverishly pinks blues and who knows what else. I can then select the speaker from the list of all speakers and I am off to the races but it’s a min or two every time and just just nuts. I have never had such an issue with the half dozen HomePods in the house, the Marantz gear, etc this thing is a pretty consistent failure here.Issue 2, the volume does not always work in the Apple Music app. I turn it up and does nothing, sometime it incrementally increases sometime it lowers the volume. I find myself having to tinker with it as part of the reconnection which adds yet more delays. I found that if I used the HEOS app success is pretty good but I don’t want to use it nor should I have to.Issue 3 and this is pretty minor but annoying. I at one point gave up on Airplay and just went back to Bluetooth which I used with my older speaker. All is good from connectivity albeit a little slow now this is important. I for some reason use display the lyrics when on the treadmill or trainer. The speakers output is about 3 – 5 seconds behind everything so the lyrics never match. I don’t get why every other speaker I have owned in the last like 12 years have never had such an issue yet this does. The HEOS app is a love it or hate it thing, perhaps the moist polarizing thing about any Sound United offering. I don’t mind it and use it with my ND8006 but that is a different use case. With that said, it’s executive overkill for just Airplay or Bluetooth transmission and it appears at least one of my issues is somewhat addressed if I use it. I am fairly neutral on this. So, the sound it pretty good for the speaker and for this I am valuing the sound quality over some of these annoying things. With that said, it’s obnoxiously expensive for what it is and completely unacceptable for these issues to be seen, it’s unacceptable even at a $100 price point.Perhaps these issues are just with my speaker however I did a ton of research on a new speaker before buying and software and other quirks seem to be commonplace. Why did I buy this over any other, well I tried a few others and this and the sound signature was what hooked me. I’d still be using my old Creative D200 but the bluetooth button broke after 10 years of use. Sound quality though is 30x better.

Compared to similar small size speakers, it performs well enough to be enjoyable. Don’t expect anything high fidelity though. I use it to complement my living room Denon AVR for some music in the kitchen. The setup was very easy and operating it via the app is a breeze.

No podía tomar mejor decisión.
