With Eve Light Strip, bring any solid surface to life thanks to premium HomeKit-enabled LED technology. Activate 1800 lumens for whole-room ambience, or dim to a subtle glow of understated elegance. All in full-spectrum white and millions of colors that you control via Siri or the app. Wi-Fi: Make sure the 2.4 gigahertz band is enabled on your router and that your iPhone is using the band to add the Eve Energy Strip. Later, you may reconnect your iPhone using the 5 gigahertz band. The DHCP function must be activated on the router. Authentication via MAC addresses must be deactivated. All WiFi-based devices with HomeKit support require the Bonjour protocol (Multicast) to work. Make sure that Bonjour and Multicast are enabled on the WiFi router and additional access points. Network tools such as “Storm Control” and others, allow multicast to be restricted and therefore Bonjour. Disable this setting. So-called Powerline/PowerLAN adapters also restrict Bonjour or do not allow it. These access points are not suitable for the use of HomeKit-based WiFi devices.

Better than Hue, Equal to LIFX
I have 1 Hue light strip, 2 LIFX light strips and 2 Eve light strips. The Hue light strip requires a hub (which I already had) whereas the Eve and LIFX bulbs do not require a hub. I had the Hue light strip first so it was my baseline to compare the Eve strip against. The Eve and LIFX light strips are about equally bright and both are brighter than the Hue strip.I used the 2 Eve light strips on my desk. My fluorescent reading light went out underneath the credenza on my desk so I replaced the whole fixture with an Eve LED light strip. I also added a 2nd Eve LED light strip on top of my credenza so when I am recording or streaming video from my desktop computer, I can adjust the intensity of the both the downward facing reading LED strip and the upward facing LED strip on top of my credenza to get a good background lighting for the video.I like the features better on the LIFX strip as it is more versatile in terms of color. Using the app, you can put multiple colors on the same light strip and you can make the colors move. The Eve light strip requires all the LEDs to be the same color. However, from time to time I have a delayed response when controlling my LIFX light strip via Siri. In contrast, the Eve light strip is always very quick to respond to voice commands given via Siri.I don’t mean to knock Hue as they make a good product but in my opinion but I like Eve and LIFX better. If you really want the ability to animate your light strip with multiple, moving colors – go with LIFX. If you really only plan to use a single color on your light strips, I would go with Eve.

Very Cool Product
As with all things Eve, this is a very cool product that was easy to set up, has great setting options and easily connects to Apple HomeKit. I decided to finally pick up two of these kits to use underneath the kitchen cabinets in my house. Having the smart capability, I wanted a device that I could schedule and control remotely and this product works great for that. Installation was relatively easy, depending on how much of a DIY’er you are. The main issue I found was that the included double-sided tape on the light strip was quite weak overall. I literally had to run to my local hardware store to purchase a stronger double-sided tape to place on the light strip which impeded the installation time. Once I installed the heavy-duty double-sided tape, I had no issues installing these underneath our kitchen cabinets. Once of the cabinets was quite long so I had to use the extension light strip that you purchase separately. It was easy to connect and you cannot tell the connector exists by the lighting you see – it doesn’t create a dark spot in the flow of lighting – everything is even and unnoticeable.Overall smart set up was easy. Just scan the QR code and the light automatically adds itself to the Apple HomeKit. Upon first connecting, it checks for the latest firmware and installs it which takes about five minutes so smart set up is about 5-10 minutes total. The flexibility of lighting colors, shades, and auto-adaptability is awesome. You can basically set these lights up to do whatever you want, whenever you want. The lights can be set to adapt to the time of day so they automatically change from bright white to warm white throughout the day and they change brightness as well so you can’t really tell, but will have even light throughout the day.Besides the issue with the double-sided tape, I absolutely love these lights. They’ve brought a whole different feel to our kitchen space and allow us to have a nice nightlight that is inexpensive to run.

Not sticky enough
Good lights but poor adhesive and starting falling off quite quickly.

Near perfect!
We could not be more impressed with the Eve Light Strip we purchased for our kitchen backsplash. It just works so seamlessly with all our Apple devices via Homekit. To set up the Eve we just plugged it in, opened the Homekit app on my iPhone and then scanned the QR code on the strip. That is it! We were up and running in seconds. We love that the light strip has a complete spectrum of colors programable through the app. Brightness can also be adjusted and is so easily programable for preset times of day or various life situations through Siri Shortcuts. Our Apple TV 4k can even be programmed to automatically control the lights. The color adjustment especially has been a delight to us. When we remodeled our kitchen, we were very disappointed that the new countertops were much more yellow of a white than our bright-white tiled backsplash. With the Eve Light Strip, we are able to dial in the exact warmth of light that results in the backsplash perfectly matching the color of the countertops (see photo). We couldn’t be happier. In the past we have toyed with several generic “smart home” devices that seem to just half work. This Eve is the opposite – it just works! Perfectly, seamlessly, quickly and reliably every time. The Eve is great for our under-cabinet lights in our kitchen. I am now trying to find reasons to buy some more light strips for use in other areas of our home 🙂

Best purchase I made so far. I live in a small space where I don’t have room for a floor or table lamp in my living room. Originally I wanted to do what most do and that’s install this under the kitchen cabinets but my molding makes it difficult. So it’s either behind the TV or in the glass cabinet. The lighting is actually quite bright and you can adjust the colors and brightness. More on that later.Pairing with your iOS device.- like many apple friendly accessories you simply scan the QR code within the Home App (already in your iPhone or tablet) or you can download the Eve App if you wish.- once it gets recognized you can assign it to a room etc. And your done.Works with Siri- no more looking at your phone to change colors, turn it on or off, or adjust brightness. I mean you can if you want to but just say “hey Siri” and tell her what you want.- for example I can say, hey Siri:- turn on my living room lights.- turn my living room lights to red- turn my lights down by 50%Installing- the strip can be adjusted to the length you desire.- you can cut along the scissor mark (see pic) if you need a shorter length.- if you need a longer length you can buy an extension kit and connect it to the female end (see pic)The strip is very flexible and has adhesive tape built in.- connect the power adapter to the end of the module (white block that says “elgato” it should say “eve” but probably designed before the company changed names.Tips:Make sure you plan out where you want to install it. The adhesive is strong so be sure! This only works if you have an apple device. iPhone or iPad. Do not buy if you or whoever you’re buying it for doesn’t have an apple device.

Se conecta con el ecosistema apple de casa inteligente (Homekit), por lo que se puede gestionar desde el iPhone aun estando a kilómetros de distancia. Tiene buena iluminación y se ve de buena calidad. Lo recomiendo

Everything is good and high quality: from light itself to the controller to the power adapter and even packaging.

Me gusto que es fácil de conectar y lo único malo es el pegamento de la tira

I bought this because I focus on HomeKit but didn’t want to buy a Mini to get Thread. I’m satisfied with the colour and the response time is great. Adaptive lighting throughout the day is a joy. I had some with the adhesive sticking the the metal supports on my desk but it could be user error. I do wish there was a black cord option, but I imagine most will prefer white.
