SENSITIVE Skin: Fair/light w/ Neutral undertone- some texture&redness
I’m on a pursuit to rebuild my makeup routine. Stay at home mom, went from wearing high end makeup EVERYDAY, to once/twice a year, for five years…. To say I’m out of practice is an understatement. I used the last of my former routine products before the baby was even born. I also had moved an hour away from any good beauty retail. 😭😞 Tragic, I know. All the while, I’d been buying and trying everything. I’ve not had much luck. Now The clock is ticking now because Momma’s goin back to work! I don’t like heavy makeup. I also prefer a radiant, glowy, sometimes dewy finish. It’s been a challenge to find a setting powder that doesn’t look cakey, splotchy, patchy, heavy… Also, almost all of them are uncomfortable on my skin. Oh, and sweating! Jeezus! God forbid I break a sweat! I’ve tried all of the dupes, halos, veils, bananas.. etc. I basically relied on sprays and prayers. Then I took the plunge and ordered this. I am SHOCKED at how FLAWLESS this product is. It has no effect on color, it really does feel like NOTHING, it keeps that radiant, beautiful “lit from within” glow.. it’s what beauty dreams are made of. I tried with a matte look also, just to see how it looked. FLAWLESS, still matte, no shade shift, not flat finish.. I am.. well…. Pretty much broke 😂, BUT I believe it’s a priority to feel good about yourself, and for me it’s important for me to love what I see in the mirror. I know it’s pricey, but it’s SOOOOO WORTH IT!!!!!!!! it’s a hefty compact, and I barely have to swipe my brush over the top to set make face, maybe two swipes total. I’ve acquired Kosas concealer, elf WHOA GLOW sun protection+makeup primer, and now HOURGLASS ambient lighting powder; shade Ethereal Light finishing powder, as my forever staples. I cant WAIT to buy the trio thingy!

AMAZING PRODUCT I WONT EVER BE WITHOUT
This Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in the shade Diffused Light is my holy grail. Once I discovered this powder I’ve not used anything else. I’d read about how wonderful they were so one day at Sephora I decided to take a look. I tried out all the shades and while they were all beautiful, Diffused Light was the best for my very pale skin. I decided to buy a mini and after that I purchased the full size compact. Hourglass products are expensive, yes, but they last a VERY long time. The mini palette lasted me months! The full size palette I’ve had almost a year and I’ve barely made a dent in it despite the fact I use it every single day. So if you’re hesitant on the price I promise you will absolutely get the quality and value that makes it a worthwhile purchase. In terms of the powder itself, I love it because it perfects my skin. It gives me flawless, airbrushed look with very little product. This means it never get cakey because you don’t need to pile it on to get gorgeous results. The powder is so soft and finely milled but it’s not delicate. I’ve dropped the compact a few times and screamed because I figured it would shatter but it survived (unlike my Becca Highlighter which I merely lay down I bit too hard and it shattered). While the Ambient Lighting Powders don’t claim to be blurring I absolutely get a blurring effect from it. The Diffused Light has some light shimmer to it but it’s not obnoxious. It’s so subtle that it gives me a slightly luminous, radiant effect. Honestly, when I want to feel really pretty and put together this is my go to.

Very nice finish
Love this product! The luminescent finish gives my skin a really nice glow/sheen. I bought the wide brush to apply it and it really gives me a younger glow (that’s a fete, since I’m 60!).

I have very sensitive skin. I am a makeup lover. I try almost everything when it comes out. I bought this because I wanted a subtle highlight that lasted. A lot of highlighter lately have made my break out…. so I have worn this everyday since I got it. It is the most gorgeous highlight every. It just looks like you’re glowing from within. It doesn’t look like a highlight. It would be the perfect highlighter for a bride. The only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the fall out. It is a pressed powder so you have to expect a least a little powder to move around, this was way more than any pressed powder I have experience. But it’s so beautiful that I just can’t not love it.
