Snug fit on the first day
Fits snug, but time will tell if it remains that way. I’m happy with the product compared to the price of an original from Nikon. This is on my D3S. I feel this product should be $2, however.

Better protection and easier to put on and take off.
I got this for my new R1. This after market flash shoe protector is better than the one that comes on the camera from Canon. Much easier to put on and take off, and it does a good job of protecting the flash shoe. Once you struggle off your Canon flash shoe protector, leave it off, and order this one from Amazon. It’s worth it. Canon should have used something like this in the first place.

The product is just a simple piece of plastic ($7.00!) that has to cover the camera’s hot shoe. For some reason it generally isn’t included by the various companies when purchasing their cameras, in this case Sony, but it does its’ one & only job so, five stars. When/if purchasing another it would be the one with the level bubble. R.D.
