Durability test
I do irrigation work on large properties. Mostly big neighborhoods and commercial buildings. They get wet all the time! It still work, and they get great battery life. I’ve only had them for about a month and a half now but they have been soaked and still work just fine I like this product so far

Definitely waterproof
Tried them half a mile away with a hill about 100 feet high in between, worked perfect. Crystal clear sounded like the person was standing next to me.

Lightweight and Feature-Packed Walkie Talkies for Hiking
To be honest, these walkies are very lightweight — which at first surprised me, but I realized it’s actually a benefit since we’ll be using them for hiking. They have an IP67 rating, meaning they’re completely protected against dust and can be submerged in up to 1 meter (3.3 feet) of water for 30 minutes, just as advertised. We plan to use them when hiking, especially since my husband usually walks a quarter to half a mile ahead of me. I’m glad the lightweight design won’t add noticeable extra weight to my pack. One small thing we noticed: when charging them, my husband didn’t realize the plug was on the back near the bottom, and the instruction manual didn’t point that out. These walkies have multiple channels with loud, clear chirps. I especially like the option for privacy channels and the ability to join other groups if needed. The weather channel will be a big plus since our weather has been unpredictable lately. The lanyard loop should also make them easier to carry on uphill climbs.Another handy feature is the built-in flashlight. We usually hike early in the morning, so we may not need it often, but it’s nice to know it’s there — one less thing to carry! I also like the bright yellow-and-black design, which makes the walkies easy to see.Overall, this set comes with everything except a screwdriver. I gave them 4 stars because the backlight goes off so quickly that I worry I’ll have to press keys repeatedly, risking a lost channel when I need to hear my husband. Also the back of my walkies have a slight bulge that might effect its waterproof ability. Still, I’m excited to use them and hope they last for years to come.

Water Resistance but at a Price
I’ve experimented with various FRS, GMRS, CB, and HAM handheld “walkie-talkies,” but not many of them boast an IP67 rating. Simply install the user-replaceable battery, attach the belt clip and any lanyard you desire, and you’re all set.I appreciated the weather radio function, which also includes alarm monitoring in case a watch or warning is sent out. While most radios tune weather bands, few actually have the alarm warning feature. After some experimentation, I managed to access all the menu features, including channel changes, quiet codes, the Rodger beeps, menu tones, call tones, and of course, the weather radio features. The battery life should last at least a day under most circumstances and the flashlight will function no matter if the units are on or off.The units include a dock, which is convenient when more and more sets seem to rely on USB-C for charging. Unlike the more common Kenwood-style plugs, the earpiece units use USB-C connections. There’s no included power supply, but USB-C cables are provided.During testing, I could only manage about a quarter mile range while using the “Hi” power setting. This range may vary depending on your location, but I expected more since I primarily use these units around single-story homes in residential areas. While they should suffice for use around the campsite, store, etc., if you need more range, consider GMRS units if you have or plan to get a license.Initially, I had some doubts about the water resistance of these units due to a few small gaps in the frame plastic and around the battery compartment (when securely seated). However, during a submersion test, I didn’t notice any water intrusion and the units continued to function afterwards.Outside of their range, I find these units to be pricier compared to other FRS and even some GMRS units. If you prioritize the IP67 rating, they’re worth considering, but if not, there are better value options available.
