How to pair with Amazon Alexa?
Step 1: Sign in to the Meross app and set an easy-to-speak name for your devices.
Step2: Go to User->Integration->Amazon Alexa
Step3: Click ‘Allow’ to continue linking.
Step4: If you installed Alexa App on your phone, it is easy to link your Alexa account with one click authorization. Meross now supports Alexa App-to-App Account Linking. If you haven’t installed Alexa App on your phone, you can go on with LWA (Login with Amazon) to complete the linking.
Step5: All done.
2.4GHz WiFi network support only: If you are having a mesh WiFi name for both your 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi and it keeps failing during setup. You may need to turn off the 5GHz on your WiFi router temporarily and make sure that your smart device is always covered by a strong WiFi signal.

Gets the job done
I bought this a year ago for use with HomeKit (Siri) for backyard lights. It isn’t perfect, but it earns the fifth star:The bad: Setting up took a few tries, and maybe twice in a year, HomeKit required me to re-pair the device for reasons unknown. Requires you to turn off 5GHz, if you have it, to set up (2.4GHz only). Also, you may have to try a couple different names for the device and the separate outlets if you want to be able to control each plug separately while retaining the ability to turn them both on and off as a single device (e.g. front yard, back yard, whole yard).The good: Does the job. Switches on and off very quickly. Wifi works fine once it’s set up. If it requires re-pairing, the process isn’t difficult. The button on the device works reliably even before it’s set up. Waterproofing has been reliable for a year, even through pretty heavy storms.The best: a week ago, I had to re-pair it and discovered that I hadn’t written down the HomeKit code, and the sticker that had it printed on had come off. So I wrote in to Meross through their support page with a couple pieces of info (the device’s default WiFi network name and its MAC address, both available from my Eero router control app), and they got back to me in a day with the HomeKit code for re-pairing (along with an apology for taking so long). I was very pleasantly surprised with that kind of high-quality customer support.

Works great with Apple HomeKit! Simple setup, does NOT require another app (if you don’t want to)
Lately I’ve been adding more smart home devices to my home (primarily revolving around Apple HomeKit), and I needed a HomeKit-compatible outdoor smart plug to control my workshop lights. The area I was going to use the smart plug was prone to being exposed to the elements, so I required an outdoor-spec smart plug. Based on the fact that my last two Meross smart home products (the garage opened and the indoor plugs) worked out great, I decided to try their outdoor plug.Out of the box, it was a lot smaller than I was expecting – the Meross Outdoor Smart Plug was replacing a similar remote-controlled plug (using a radio-frequency push-button fob) but it took a lot less space on the back of my workbench where I have all my cables organized. I also like how the rubber plugs (that are used to seal the plug holes when not in use) are attached to the housing, so I won’t lose them if ever I have to unplug something in the future. With the smart plug attached to my workbench, I plugged in the smart plug, pulled out my iPhone, and went straight to the Home app.What I like about Meross products is that you do not need to install the Meross app to use them with Apple HomeKit; you can add Meross products to your smart home via the Home app directly; this was also true with their outdoor smart plug. All of the Meross products that I’ve purchased so far have the required HomeKit QR code decal, making setup and installation a quick job. You can install the Meross app optionally if you want a single interface for just your Meross devices, but it’s not necessary.Now that I have integrated my workshop lights into my smart home, another smart convenience has been achieved! The response of the Meross Outdoor Smart Plug is quick and lag-free, it works with Siri commands (mine is “Hey Siri, turn my garage lamps on”) and it is exactly the smart plug that I was looking for.

Easy to install/Worked partially. Mine was defective-
So i bought this (not sure if i bought used or brand new) but it was SUPER easy to setup. Yes you can use the Meross App on your phone to set it up, but if any Apple Homekit has that little rectangular QR code sticker… you can instantly add that to Homekit. Thats what that QR is for.This product DOES NOT need the Meross app, will setup straight into your Homekit app.3/5 stars because only 1/2 plugs worked, and you can hear the audible click noise when the Surge protection clicks on and off. It would do this constantly. Im returning this defective product and ordering the same exact product, because it was super easy to setup and works easy. Also went through 2 separate Oklahoma heavy T-Storms… So i assume its weatherproofed quite well.Tip: When setting up in Homekit, make sure to label each outlet as “Outlet 1, Outlet 2, or LED lights, etc) otherwise you will forget which one is which.

Reliable HomeKit integration, no need for internet connection or Meross app
I m on a mission to prevent internet connections by smart (cough) devices during configuration and operation. So I only trust HomeKit and devices that can be fully configured just with a connection to the HomeKit hub (AppleTV) and not the internet. Not only that, but that has to be done while the device is on a separate and highly restricted VLAN.Meross nails it with this and all the other HomeKit-compatible Meross products I’ve tried so far. It’s a little wonky to do the steps with separate VLANs and no internet but it works great. I have 6 Meross outlets running for 1-2 years and they have been nearly flawless, the only issue has been a loss of connection on two and a quick power cycle fixed them.

Hit or miss, but two misses for me!
In 2023 I purchased two of an earlier version of this product, they worked great for 2023 and 2024. Setting things up this year and one worked and the other was dead. It happens, let me purchase a new one. It was easy to setup, except only 1 of the outlets worked. Ugh, let me replace it. I get a replacement and it won’t set up with Apple HomeKit or the meross app. And the sugar on top, the one from 2023 that was working… is no longer working!

Easy to setup and just works
Super easy to setup with Apple homekit. This is the second one I’ve purchased and I learned a lesson from the first one – make a copy of the code on the unit before the weather removes it for you in case you need to reset the unit. In my case I was able to carefully peel off the sticker from the new unit and put it in the product box (they even have a place for it on one of the paper things provided).

When I first came across this brand, I was a bit hesitant based on a lot of reviews stating that the device constantly loses connection. I’ve actually had the exact same experience till I dug a bit deeper and found a few things within my router’s settings that make these devices a lot more stable. Now, these changes might not work for everyone’s router, but I’m currently running an ASUS XT8 mesh router, IN MESH MODE, and have had zero issues connecting these devices to the 2.4ghz network nor do I have connection issues anymore.Meross technical support told me to remove my mesh setup and separate the bands which initially did help but I was still losing connecting from time to time randomly. What I ended up finding out is that if you make these devices have a Static IP as well as BIND them to a certain node (if you’re running a mesh system), they work perfectly fine in Mesh mode. So now, I have 1 SSID, my routers are in the mesh setup I initially purchased them for, and I haven’t lost connection to any of the 3 devices from this company in quite some time.The other reason I purchased these is that it works amazingly with all my automations through SmartThings. Such an easy fit into my smart ecosystem and all my routines have no issues running with these devices. Super impressed once the connection issues were gone.Finally, this Outdoor plug has no issues with the Canadian winters that I’ve so far tested it in. I use it for our blowup Christmas decorations and although it’s not physically in the open, it still gets snowed on and such.

Muy bueno, excelente calidad, simple de ínstalar u compatible sin ningún problema con Google y Alexa. Algo que no mencionan en l descripción y es buenísimo saberlo, es que cada salida (tiene 2), puede utilizarse de forma individual, es decir uno puede estar apagado y el otro prendido o viceversa, o prender y apagar todo el adaptador. Una excelente compra y a muy buen costo.

I use this outdoor double plug with Alexa for the patio lights (christmas and decorative), which both have no switches. Very convenient, instead of plugging and unplugging them every time. I use for a couple months now, no problem at all. I leave them all year long, it creates a great atmosphere even for the summer nights. They light up automatically and independently on different schedules with Alexa’s routines (the two plugs are independent), also different on weekend and week nights, but you could also light them up together (you actually have every option). Looks durable and trustable. A little expensive but I guess it’s the price to pay for something you can use securely outdoor (I use Govee smartplugs indoor, also a good product). Will update this review if ever it doesn’t last as long as it should. I don’t use Meross app at all, you don’t even need it to set up the plug if I remember well (only Alexa is enough). Set up was easy. I recommend.
