Great speeds and super easy to setup!
I’ve always trusted Netgear for my home Wi-Fi, and this upgrade was a real treat! It’s great to have a couple of extra Ethernet ports, especially since running cables isn’t really an option for me, and everything’s been working smoothly. I definitely recommend it, especially considering the price. Just be sure to check the exact model number because there are some differences, particularly in the internal speeds across different models.

I purchased this in August of 2023 on Wirecutter’s recommendation. The first six months were great. Good speeds, setup only moderately frustrating, and a decent price.It’s now January 2023 and my router has stopped assigning IP addresses properly. If I try to connect via DHCP, it never finds an IP address. I have power cycled; I have done a factory reset; I have changed the range of IP addresses assigned; I have used my google-fu as best I can. I can only connect to wireless if I assign a static IP. I’ve looked at the logs and I can’t see anything that changed that would cause this problem. It’s been on the same firmware since I purchased it, and that’s the most recent version.This wouldn’t normally be that big of a deal, but: I use a lot of smart switches. I love a cozy room but I don’t want to turn 12 lamps on and off manually. Giving each of them a static IP address *once* would be a PITA. Plus, the first advice that Netgear offers for troubleshooting is “do a factory reset”. Then I’d have to reassign the static ip’s all over again.I haven’t even come to the worst part. NETGEAR DOES NOT OFFER CUSTOMER SUPPORT after 3 months unless you pay them. That’s right. They want to charge me for troubleshooting a product that has failed within 6 months of purchase.This product has become a waste of money and a source of endless frustration. I don’t even feel right giving it away and handing the problem off to someone else. It’s literally just trash now.Do yourself a favor and buy literally anything else. And NYT, you might want to update your recommendations.

I bought this to replace my previous single satellite unit. They try band dual satellite with its own ethernet plug is super helpful. The bait station is in the other side of the house and I have this right next to my office plugged into my desktop. I’m getting considerable higher bandwidth, upload and download and neckers and super reliable, especially these nighthawks. I highly recommend recommended and have recommended to friends and family who have bought the same ones. My previous ones lasted six years before I decided to replace like me Wi-Fi devices in the house are getting more and more. I have over 30 devices and it’s been doing a pretty good job. I highly recommend it.

Great Network! Simple setup.
Amazing Wi-Fi network system. Great for streaming and Gaming. WiFi signal covers the whole house and even outside. No issues with setup. Literally plug and play. No need for running Ethernet cables throughout my home. Best to download the app and setup the WiFi within the Nighthawk app.

Nighthawk never lets me down!
I live in an old adobe home in Northern New Mexico, where Starlink is my only option for high-speed internet. To extend its coverage throughout my property, I bypassed the Starlink router using the app and connected a Netgear Nighthawk Mesh system via CAT5e patch cable.From the main Nighthawk Mesh router, I ran a second CAT5e cable directly to my Xbox Series X in the living room, effectively turning the router into a local area network hub. My second Nighthawk Mesh unit connects to my PlayStation in the bedroom via another CAT5e cable, providing a stable, wired connection.The third Nighthawk Mesh unit extends connectivity out to my garage studio. I ran CAT5e through the kitchen wall to a Nighthawk 7200 router in the studio, which connects my MacBook Pro, iPad, and iPhone to my StudioLive AVB network. This includes Presonus and MOTU devices running through an AVB switch for my daily music production work.I invested in the Nighthawk Mesh system to improve signal strength and stability across all my devices—and I’m glad I did. I now enjoy the speed and reliability of Starlink without the extra cost of Starlink’s proprietary mesh accessories.

I just moved to a bigger house, from 1,200 sq/ft to about 2,600, so I knew I would have to make up wifi coverage shortfalls at some point. The old Cox panoramic router we had did just fine in the center of the previous house, but there weren’t any solid places to install our Cox fiber setup, so it is on the second floor at the end of the house furthest from my office.I did speed tests after the install, at the modem and then in my office, just to see how bad the drop-off was from that far away, and I knew I needed to get something ASAP. I already have another Nighthawk router for all of my smart home devices, so I decided to go with these. Setup was very easy, took less than 10 minutes to get the main one attached to my account, the satellites paired, and the SSID/PW changed to what I wanted.I rarely write reviews, that’s how good this is.The first picture is right next to the Cox router after install, second is in my office before getting the Nighthawk mesh extenders, and the third picture is in my office after installing the Nighthawks with one on my desk.
