PICO 4 256GB VR ヘッドセット (ピコ 4) White

Quality design, great visuals, feature-rich hardware for less $, but software selection isn’t great
The Pico 4 has a sleek design and features better video resolution, color, and black level performance than the Quest 2 (which I also own), along with features like eye and face tracking the Quest 2 doesn’t have. It is also far lighter and more comfortable to wear than the Quest 2, all at a lower price. It excels at PC-based VR gaming via Steam (with some tweaking) and VR video performance in general, but the stand-alone software selection for the Pico isn’t as good as the Quest 2/3. All in all, if you’re looking to do PC gaming or watch streaming VR video and are cost-conscious, the Pico 4 is a great buy. However, if you’re looking to do stand-alone gaming in the headset, the software selection available pales in comparison to the Quest 2 offerings. I haven’t evaluated this unit against a Quest 3 or any other newer devices, as I don’t own one, but considering the price I think Pico 4 is a great bang-for-the-buck choice.

Used – Like New, I mean I guess?
Frankly speaking the headset itself is amazing, it’s a small step up from the quest 2 with the lenses and I had assumed that I would have a trade off with the games library but honestly I didn’t really notice. But what I really like about this headset is that it’s a lot more open to modification software wise than the quest 2, sideloading apps is as easy as grabbing the compatible apks from github and slapping them in a folder when you connect your headset which is amazing compared to sideloading on the quest which needs a whole companion program. Plus even the tether is better for pcvr, no old oculus main menu where you jump to steamvr just straight to steam. Probably not much but headroom is headroom.The only reason I’m leaving a three star review is because I bought mine used like new. Not Used – Good or Used – Poor. Like New. Am I wrong for expecting a opened box or smudge or two on the reflective front? This thing had no PHYSICAL blemishes to speak of but the facial interface and the spot where the nose went was sweaty and greasy with stains and CRUST on the nose portion, small flecks and smudges were even on the front and headband, there’s still a spec of cardboard between the front glass and the side of the headset (I could not get it out nor do I know why it’s there.)This headset would’ve been used like new IF THEY HAD CLEANED IT! I don’t even know how it got as bad as it was because it sincerely did not have much use. the controllers were spotless with the original included batteries inside and once I deep cleaned everything in 91% rubbing alcohol the “brand new” factory smell returned (after the rubbing alcohol cleared off)But seriously deep cleaning for an hour and soaking the face foam in rubbing alcohol is not what I expected for a 25% discount…..Still happy with it though as going through the hassle of returning it isn’t worth the headache when there is nothing physically wrong with it, no dead pixels, no bad battery or even reduced battery life, and no permanent marks on any portion the headset including the lenses. So just the disgust factor y’know?But seriously I BATHED the face foam in alcohol multiple times, squeegeeing it out and repeating took the most time.

Better than the competition
Finally, a great VR headset that doesn’t require you to sell your soul to Meta!Great hardware. Sleek UI. Capable of VR streaming. Has a library of apps and games. It blows my now bricked Quest 2 (since I refuse to sign up for a Meta account) out of the water.

This headset is great to be honest. It’s really light, more so than I expected. The visuals are amazing and the quality of the packaging was outstanding. I look forward to some extra accessories down the line, as it wasn’t perfectly comfortable, but after fiddling around I got it to feel nice. It actually fit better without the glasses gap thing.Now for the bad. The stream assistant app to connect to PC is terrible and crashes a lot. But fortunately you can buy a software called Virtual Desktop that performs amazingly! Although it is only wireless and so you need 5GHz router speed so be aware of that.People have noted that there aren’t a lot of games, but there’s a decent amount and more will come soon as it’s still fairly new. If you’re using it for PCVR then you don’t have to worry as you have the best wireless headset for that! The only nuisance is you have to download an app to set up payment options for the store. Felt like a really unnecessary extra step but easy to do and once set up you never have to worry (although I set up paypal and when buying fork the store it went through immediately without logging in. I worry kids could spend a lot of money without you realising lol)

この商品が初VRです。スマホVRもすっ飛ばしてこちらを購入しました。『一度もVR体験をした事がない人の第一印象レビュー』という点、ご承知おき下さい。※PCVRの使い勝手などはまた追記します。[装着感]他の製品と比べた事が無いですが、装着感は普通です。重いとは感じませんが、頭の前と後ろで挟むため、少し圧迫感を感じます。夏は蒸れそうなので、付ける機会が減りそう…。[見え方]一言でいえば、「近くでディスプレイを見ている」感覚です。ミラーレスカメラのファインダーを覗く感覚に近いですが、それよりも画面は大きく近いので迫力があります。もちろん裸眼とは見え方が違いますし、双眼鏡などのガラスを通して見た時の見え方とも違います。⚫︎一番ガッカリしたのは視野に大きな違和感がある事。※双眼鏡を覗くジェスチャーをして、手を顔にピッタリ付けるようにしてみて下さい。VRゴーグルは、このような視野に近いです。見えるのは正面のみで、上下と横が全く見えません。普段はボヤッと見えている所なので関係ないかと思いきや、ここが無いために「ゴーグルで見ている感」がとても強くなります。このせいで没入感がかなり減ってしまうと思いました。※他社製品もだいたい同じような見え方らしいので、現行VR製品共通の問題です。[画質]画面の画素は全然気にならないです。色味もなかなかだと思います。周辺が多少ボヤけて見えますが、上記に挙げた視野の違和感の方が強いです。一番気になるのは、コンテンツ自体の解像度の低さです。立体動画コンテンツを見た時にクッキリ・ハッキリした映像にならず、没入感が低く感じます。[2023/4/13 編集]複数の動画コンテンツを試していて気づいたのは、「画質が悪い=元動画の画質が悪い」という事です。撮影している機器の画質がそれなりなので、設定を変えたところで限界があるのだと思いました。特に360°まで撮影できるカメラはセンサーが小さいので画質も悪いです。Pico内蔵のアプリ「Pico video」の動画は360°動画が多いので、画質が良くないと感じたのだと思います。※180°の動画だと良いカメラを使用できるので高品質な映像のことが多いです。PC接続の場合はそこまで気にしなくてもある程度の画質があります。それでも画質を上げたいならば、「Pico VR」というスマホアプリや本体のストアから「Virtual desktop」という商品がオススメです。Pico純正の「streaming assistant」よりも高画質にできます。高品質なPCVRゲームをした際の没入感は動画コンテンツの比ではありません！やはりPico4はPC接続をメインとしたVR機器なのだと思いました。[操作性(2023/3/16追記)]他の使用者さんや自分の体験で分かった事ですがPCVRにおいて、コントローラの操作性が悪くなったり反応しなくなる事があります。steamで購入した一部ゲームソフトや動画再生ソフトでうまく動かなくなる事がありました。4D media playerにおいては、かなりの確率で再生中にバグります。※Virtual desktopやdeoVRプレイヤーで再生することで解決すると報告があります。この点はアプリがPico4に正式対応されることを願いたいです。※Pico storeにあるソフトなら問題ありません。[良い点]実のところ、体験して一番凄いと感動したのは『カラーパススルー機能』です。画質は良くないですが、外の景色をゴーグル越しにカラーで見る事がここまで凄いと感じるとは、自分でも思いませんでした。自分のプレイスペースを決める際の『現実世界に画面表示が現れる』表現や、そこから手を出した時の表現には今でもテンションが上がります。⚫︎瞳孔間距離の調節が0.5刻みでできる点は非常に良いです。⚫︎[装着感]の所で少しマイナスな点を書きましたが、重量バランスが良いので数時間の装着ならそこまで疲労感を感じないと思います。(眼精疲労の方が感じる…)[まとめ]現実世界のような見え方を期待していたので、視野の点からガッカリしてしまったのが正直なところです。しかしながら、3DSや3DTVのような『画面を見る立体視』とは比べ物にならないほどの没入感があります。個人的には、VR動画よりゲームの方がよりその中に入り込んだような感覚を得ることができました。現実のような視野をカバーできる製品が今後出れば、VR界における一つの到達点になると思います。コンテンツの少なさは微妙ではありますが、PCVRとして使えばカバーできます。カラーパススルーも単眼なので、次世代機では複眼にしてMR用途を増やしてほしいです。今の世界情勢を見る限り、他社含め今後出る商品はもっと高くなるでしょう。この性能で5万以下で買えるVRとしてはこの商品が最後な気がします。(2024/7/16追記)⚫︎Pico 単体のVRChatに対応しました。画質はPS2レベルですが、没入感は良好です。⚫︎DMMがPICO4に対応したため、使い勝手はかなり向上しました。もちろん8KVRも視聴できます。⚫︎以前よりゲームコンテンツも増えました。しかしながら、metaに比べるとやはり少ないです。⚫︎PICO唯一の独自サービスであった「VR生放送ライブ」が終了してしまいました。利用者が少なかったので仕方ないとは思いますが、画質も良くダンスライブの迫力は結構あったので残念ですね。MR対応・パンケーキレンズ対応のQuest3が出た今、この機種の価値は相対的に減少してしまった印象があります。しかしながら、低価格帯の中では未だにPico4は強い製品だと言えるでしょう。
