Long review, but it’s amazing
I 100% bought this because I’m an Elden Ring fan (PS5). I didn’t want to be tied down to the loft all the time either. For reference, my Internet has 4 waypoints throughout the house (2 upstairs and 2 down), and a router on the outside of the house (Breaker box – Yeah, my first experience with that, too).Here’s my legitimate experience: This thing is awesome. Gameplay is absolutely seamless. It acts as a controller if you’re sitting right in front of the TV. I tested it with PvP (Person vs Person) online play, and also seamless.The only complaint I have is when I’m in my bedroom and the door is closed, every now and then I’ll get an “Internet is Weak” symbol. But if you play online, it’s very mild and semi resembles lag for a second. Then it’s back to being good. Other than that, all rooms (Including the garage) work well. As an online player, I have to steas that’s a minor inconvenience, I have not been kicked from an online game.I have not tried playing remotely from another WiFi source, so I can’t give a review on that portion. BUT, this has 100% met my needs.Screen quality is the same as my TV (Sony, 2023 Smart TV), linking it to my PS5 was surprisingly easy, and all games were available.100% wish I had known about this before. If you’re an avid player, definitely a freedom piece to roam your house/apartment.

Finally a standalone handheld console with Cloud Streaming!
Edit 11/9/2025: Upping this to 5 stars. PlayStation released cloud streaming recently and it is AMAZING. All the connectivity issues with Remote Play back to my PS5 are nonexistent with Cloud Streaming, and there are nearly 3,000 games available. The Portal finally feels like a standalone handheld console, rather than being tethered to a (sometimes) finicky Remote Play connectionI really wanted to use this device more. I loved the idea of having the ability to play my PlayStation 5 from the couch with something else on TV. However, there are some limitations:1) Your PS5 must be plugged in via ethernet for this to work well. For whatever reason, the WiFi on this device isn’t as strong as something like an iPhone when my PlayStation 5 was connected via WiFi.2) Not a great device for traveling. Due to the device size, it’s hard (especially adding a case) to fit this in a smaller bag or easily pull out on a plane. Obviously, this is limited too by the fact that it needs to connect back to your PS5, and I had pretty consistent issues trying to use hotel WiFi or hotspots to connect.If you don’t mind the above flaws, this device feels great, the feedback is great, and as a controller it’s the closest thing to a DualSense controller. My only gripe with the controller itself is the sticks are smaller than they are on normal controller, and I would’ve liked the bigger size.

More time with my family and doubled my PS5 usage!
Even though I have my own dedicated game room in my house, I bought this to spend more time with my family. Instead of being away in another room to play games, I can just pick this up and continue playing on the couch in the family room. My mom can be watching a show while I farm on Stardew Valley. I can still comment on the show and spend time with her instead of being away in another room.This device has also doubled or tripled my PS5 usage. Some games don’t need a full tv setup to be enjoyable. I actually prefer handheld gaming, coming from the Gameboy era. Games like Blue Prince and Stardew Valley are just more enjoyable handheld. But even more heavy graphic games like Detroit: Become Human, has been super fun to replay on the Portal. Everything was smooth and it still looked great. I’ve also tried the Witcher 3 and FF7 Remake on the Portal and they all look good and played well. My PS5 is on wifi and I have not had any issues with connection if I’m close to any of my wifi extenders.

Totally worth the money
If your WiFi is even somewhat decent. You should have no problems cloud gaming on this thing. I almost got a steam deck and decided to give the portal a chance. Thank god I did and saved myself some money. I have a pc,have a ps5. I just wanted something I could take anywhere and game on PlayStation won me over

Je la trouve super bien PlayStation a fait un bon produit qui est pratique ils ont fait une mise à jour dessus et ça c’est bien plus besoin de ps5 on a accès directement à des jeux dessus le seul petit problème qu’il y a il faut avoir une bonne connexion Internet et il y a pas tout les jeux mais dans l’ensemble elle est légère qui pratique un peu loin de partout et ça c’est bien ne touche ils sont fluides l’écran et bien dans l’ensemble c’est une console je vous la recommande vraiment

Chat with the seller and discuss all your queries before buying like I did. Its authentic product and works perfectly. There will be no warranty on this product though because you are buying from third party. Now when it comes to PS Portal it’s an accessories not and handheld don’t get confused or deluded by negative brain dead comments by illiterate users……its for time crunch on your games when you are not using PS5 and while you are travelling. Just connect your PS5 to ethernet with strong internet connection and your good to go. Perfect if you wanna play while you are away from your home and wanna play games of your console.

Excelente producto!! calidad SonyPara empezar debes saber que no es una consola portátil, esto debe quedar claro. este funciona de manera muy sencilla esto funciona a manera de extensión de tu pantalla, es decir si no te dejan jugar en la pantalla por que la están viendo puedes prender control y ver ahí tus juegos, sin necesidad de interrumpir la película del crio.Cabe resaltar que debes tener buena conexión a internet ya que de lo contrario te encontraras con una gran frustración al realizar tus comandos para esquivar o atacar y que no se realicen en tiempo es decir un delay.Otra cuestión, si se actualiza tendrán que ver de nuevo su consola en el televisor para configurarlo de lo contrario les dirá que no encuentra la consola

Ótimo produto. Acredito que se ele fosse independente, sem precisar do PS5, seria um dos melhores portáteis atualmente.Com uma internet boa, o PS Portal roda lisinho.
