    Impressive size, cost, and effectiveness
This thing is a beast. Comes with everything you need including thermal paste. Overall temp 47c, core temp 35c at idle with 9800x3d. If I had one complaint, I decided to use the stock fans and I can hear them. I will probably go back to my Arctic 120mm fans. But it’s so quiet you can barely hear it, not enough to be annoying, but I do notice it. Biggest and best CPU cooler I’ve ever owned, hands down. And mounting on AM5, precise and flawless! You cannot screw it up.

One of the best air coolers available
This is a review of the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120SE.I read many performance reviews online before purchasing this. According to those reviewers, this offers top-tier cooling vs noise at a fraction of the price. It even competes with some AIOs.I recently replaced an AIO with this, the first air cooler I’ve used in a while. I did it because this computer is getting long in the tooth, and I’m more concerned about long-term reliability than a couple of degrees Celsius. If you are building a new computer, this is much easier to install and more reliable than an AIO water cooler.Compared to my old NZXT Kraken X63, this gets very similar cooling performance. The temperatures fluctuate more than they did with the AIO, but the minimum idle temperature is now slightly lower than it was with the AIO, and the max temps are only a couple of degrees hotter than they were with the 280mm AIO. This is all despite the fact that I used about half of the normal amount of thermal paste due to a screwup on my part.As long as you’re not using a processor with a very high TDP, this is the ideal cooler.Note: you should prefer this over the 120 EVO. Yes, the EVO has RGB and can get you a couple of degrees cooler on higher TDP processors, but at the cost of much higher noise. If you’re using anything less than 170watt CPU, this is probably the better choice.Addendum: now using this on two computers. Zero regrets.Addendum: this cooler does make it more difficult to replace the M.2 drive without removing the cooler. Not impossible, just obnoxious.Addendum (November 2024): started getting obnoxious fan noises about a half year later. Thankfully, there are a variety of fans you can replace these with that will produce reasonably similar performance, including the Arctic P12 or the Noctua NF-A12x25 (the latter being about as expensive per fan as this entire cooler with included fans).

    Unbeatable option
I am truly impressed with the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE. This CPU air cooler combines excellent performance with very low noise levels, providing efficient cooling even for demanding processors. The installation was straightforward, and the cooler is compatible with my AMD platform. Additionally, the inclusion of quiet PWM fans makes the system very silent during use.Given its price, I consider it an unbeatable option for those seeking a quality cooler with good performance, aesthetics, and wide compatibility.

Thermalright Phantom Spirit SE Twin Towers 10/10
Top tier CPU cooler. Noise level is barely noticeable. Installation process was quick and easy thanks to the video guide from the seller here on amazon. Performance wise, cools like an ice machine. If you’re looking for the most affordable CPU cooler and have the space for the twin tower and fan setup, I highly recommend going with the Thermalright Phantom Spirit SE.

Thermalright knocks it out of the park again!
For the 35$ or so that I paid for this cooler, it’s a pretty excellent offering. It’s capable of handling CPUs with a massive power draw, easy to install, and looks decent enough with the fin array looking clean. Additionally, the fans aren’t excessively loud, although they can occasionally rattle at very very low RPMs, however this does vary. This cooler easily conquers the temps of my AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, even with a significant overclock. If you have a smaller case, you may run into problems with size, especially vertically. Motherboard clearance isn’t an issue, but if you have a narrow case you may find yourself running into problems. The fans are a good size, being the standard 120x25mm. This means that if you ever encounter a failure, you can easily purchase a replacement.

Excellent CPU cooler for the price.
Using this on a Ryzen 9 cpu and inside a medium form factor case. It’s been working great as expected. The price to performance of this cpu cooler is pretty much unmatched. Excellent if your cpu doesn’t get ridiculously hot which at that point you probably have a hedt cpu then this isn’t enough. The fins might come a little bent but you can always bend it back straight. It’s fairly easy to mount too and comes with thermal paste that work surprisingly well. My cpu temps are around 45C when idling and light use to around 50-55C when gaming. Doing stress tests and benchmarks like OCCT and Cinebench my cpu sits around mid 60s C.

Great fan, just make sure you have the room
Built well and great value for money. Easy to install the fans. Gives me great thermals. The reason I knocked a star off was for two reasons: one, because it does not tell you what direction to put the fans in – you have to imply it from the picture on the box. But the worse reason is two – this thing is big, and will likely encroach on your RAM’s space, and if the RAM is too tall, one of the fans won’t clear it and will be sitting “on top of” the RAM. Which is okay, if that didn’t mean my case can no longer shut properly. So I had to move the fans into a pull configuration instead of a push, and that caused the fans to rattle due to some way they sync up and interfere with each other. I ended up replacing them with Noctua fans that don’t have this same rattle, but realize that you could probably be better off (and for less money) just buying a thin profile fan that will clear the RAM.

Strong Quiet Air Cooler for an Affordable Price
Nice super quiet air cooler. This is the best air cooler I have had purchased. For approximately $35 you can’t beat the price to performance ratio. It keeps my ryzen 7 7800x3D at a low 40 degrees C at idle. This is basically an upgraded pearless assassin (which was rated by Tom’s hardware as the best air cooler for most people). It has 7 heat pipes which are very capable of removing the heat from your cpu. Highly Recommended!

amazing cooler, ryzen 7 5700x keeps the temp below 72c under heavy loads and intensive gaming. Anyone leaving low stars didn’t check compatibility before buying.
